Dexter and Althea Smith

When my family, the Smiths drove up that night in their car that came straight from their New Orleans style going-away brunch, I knew then and there, jazz would soon fill my halls. The music they love, that I play for them often on my house wide, state of the art Control 4 sound system, was meant to keep memories of evenings out in their beloved Crescent City alive in their heart while Dexter's job has him here in Atlanta.

look!

it's me!

look!

it's me!

i knew then

and there

jazz would soon

fill my halls.

My refreshing pool is always ready for them to cool their love of southern, sunny days with family pool parties, where even Goldie the family retriever jumps in for a dip. And my back-yard oasis is great at keeping our girls in swim meet ready condition. Jasmine and Gloria rack up ribbons that I proudly display on my walls in their room.

And when their family came up for their first Saints-Falcons game, the gumbo pot was working overtime. We prepped in my kitchen for days. My built-in chopping block helped Althea dice sweet onion, hot peppers and crisp celery as she showed off for all our guests. We even let Althea's sister, Robin and her husband, John, stir the roux when they weren't off snuggling in my cozy guest room.

I can't wait for this year's Mardi Gras as we will be having our first neighborhood open-house parade that ends up here with me!

Smiths, because of you and your precious family, my good times always 'reauxl'.

THE

END.

:)
