Just an FYI for sellers: I have had a few of my sellers talk to me about homes they are looking to buy when they sell. Some of these homes have outrageous property taxes. Especially new construction which is now bank owned. This might ease your pain.
Georgia homeowners who are concerned that they are paying too much in property taxes may soon find an easier, more streamlined appeals process. Senate Bill 346 introduced by Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R – Woodstock, Ga) would create a statewide standardized appeals process. One of the provisions in the bill will require that counties send property valuation notices annually with information on where to appeal. Another major suggested change would give property owners up to a year to file instead of the current 30 to 45 days given by most counties.
Thank you for your consideration:)
